Back in early 2017, a user came to the Mountain Goats subreddit with a plan for a wondrous, joyous compilation of user-submitted covers of songs by the aforementioned band.

After some time which saw a multitude of users attempting to record their own covers and getting them ready for release, the deadline came, went, and the original organiser hasn't been heard from since.

I decided to take over after submitting my own cover to the original compilation and being a little frustrated that all the hard work put in by the numerous talented individuals would just go to waste.

I attempted to contact all the original users who said they were planning to contribute songs with hopes that they would be willing to resubmit the songs for inclusion on this revived compilation.

Sadly, not all who expressed interest submitted songs, and many songs submitted for the original compilation have not turned up here.

Nevertheless, what we have here is a collection of songs from a variety of users who all credit the Mountain Goats with playing a vital part in their lives.

Thanks to all the users who contributed to this project, including Reddit user Prisma90 who lent their support as well.

Most of all, thanks to the Mountain Goats' John Darnielle (and all past, present, and future collaborators), for making the wonderful music that has brought so many of us together over time.
